About Us
The Orion Kites Story
Orion Kites was established in April of 2006 in the city of Port Saint
Lucie Florida. But the history of Orion Kites goes back to 2001.
One summer in the small town of Jasper, Indiana, the Founders were
looking for a fun and interactive family time activity; they decided to
make a kite. They cut,sowed and assembled the first kite by hand and
took it out to fly. The kite was instantly noticed by neighbors and
friends who enquired about the kite and it's great flying capability. At
the request of a few neighbors and friends, they decided to make 30
kites. To their surprise, they sold every single one of them. In 2002
they returned to Florida, and in 2003 they decided to make 50 kites
and sold out of them too. In 2004 the model was redesigned and 2
more sizes were added to the product line. Additionally, 7 process
and quality improvements were made. The rest is history in the
making! And you are now a part of it.
Our philosophy is simple. Make nice kites that are easy to fly, and
will last for more that one season. We aim to provide a kite that will
give “An out of this world experience” to our customers.
